More Kind Words...

Jordana lives in NY and likes to send 4x6 photos of her daughter Ava to family and friends, BUT all the notecards are too small and she has to cut the photos! Well, she came in contact with me and I custom designed some oversized notecards for her so she will not have to cut the pictures! Here is what she said....

"Hi Rebcca - Just got the cards today. I love them! A friend of mine has a blog, mamabirddiaries.com and recommends different services and products. I told her how happy I was with you and I'll let you know if she puts you on her site. Thanks again - I will definitely be ordering from you again!!"

Check out the Blog! Jordana is a contributing "mama" and it is awesome.
Here is the card (pre-folded!)

Wedding Crasher...

Last night I went with my friend Rebecca to a very traditional Indian Wedding Reception. It was a true experience! Beautiful Saris, Indian Food, Belly Dancers, Flamenco Dancers and Bollywood Step Dancers. The Father of the Bride (whom Rebecca and her Dad do business with) wanted to pass out my business cards and get me lots of weddings because, "Indians have lots of money to spend!" Especially since their weddings typically last a week! We met so many nice people that were willing to explain what different foods and traditions were. Thanks Rebecca!

Jay Mohr Rocks The House!

Last night was so much FUN! Chris and I started out and went on a "date" to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse for a nice dinner. Then we met up with friends at the Irvine Improv to see Jay Mohr! The man is Hilarious. I love him!! Amongst other things, he is known for playing Bob Sugar on Jerry Maguire (Chris and My FAVORITE) and of course he is on Ghost Whisperer which is also one of my favorite shows.
Here are some pics!

Our New Living Room & A New Schedule!!

Here I am! On a Monday Morning! At Home! I have a new schedule now and I work on Tuesday and Thursday. Exciting, huh? Plans are to really take this opportunity and build Rebecca Calagna Events and Grace Amore Boutique! Of course, and to spend time with my precious girl! Isabella came down the stairs this morning and said, "Daddy go to work. I stay home with Mommy?????". So sweet! Made me happy. The grandparents are super sad they don't get her two days a week, but are still happy with one day each and the extra day to get things done. Also, Here are pictures of our new living room furniture. We got a sofa, love seat, big chair (yes, that is for CHRIS only!), and tables! I love it so much! If anyone wants to see it... Mondays and Wednesdays are good (Ha-ha!).

GIRLS IN MY CIRCLE

When I was little,

I used to believe in the concept of one best friend,

and then I started to become a woman.

And then I found out that if you allow your heart
to open up,

God would show you the best in many friends.

One friend is needed when you're going through things
with your man.

Another friend is needed when you're going through things
with your mom.

Another will sit beside you in the bleachers as you delight

in your children and their activities.

Another when you want to shop, share, heal, hurt, joke,
or just be.

One friend will say, 'Let's cry together,'

another, 'Let's fight together,'

another, 'Let's walk away together.'

One friend will meet your spiritual need,

another your shoe fetish,

another your love for movies,

anot her will be with you in your season of confusion,

another will be your clarifier,

another the wind beneath your wings.

But whatever their assignment in your life,

on whatever the occasion,

on what ever the day,

or wherever you need them to meet you with their

gym shoes on and hair pulled back,

or to hold you back from making a complete
fool of yourself ...

those are your best friends.

It may all be wrapped up in one woman,

but for many, it's wrapped up in several..

one from 7th grade,

one from high school,

several from the college years,

a couple from old jobs,

on some day s your mother,

on some days your neighbor,

on others, your sisters,

and on some days, your daughters

So whether they've been your friend for
20 minutes or 20 years,

AND ONLY IF YOU'D LIKE TO,

pass this on to the women that God has
placed in your life

to make a difference.

A Customer Says "Thank You"!!!

When I got home yesterday, to my surprise, there were beautiful flowers on my door made by my friend Jenny B! A customer of mine from Massachusetts sent me them as a Thank You! Wow, I have done a lot of weddings, business cards and things, but I have never received a thank you gift. It really made me SO HAPPY to know there are appreciative, kind people out there still! And it also renewed my faith and made me realize that I can and will be successful in this business.

My customer/new friend is Amy Goldman and she is an up and coming party planner in MA. Amongst other things, here is her logo/business cards I designed for her:

So, thank you Amy!

Meant To Be Friends!

My friend Sara sent an email with this picture of Derek and Drew! She said, "do all dad & son's do this...don't worry drew has a sippy in his holder!"

Well Sara...Father's and Daughter's do this too!!!!! The pictures cracked me up because Isabella and Chris do this TOO! They clank their glass/sippy cup together and say "Cheers" then drink. It is hilarious! Of course, Isabella wants to do it a million times in a row :)

A New Year & A Sick Household!

Well Poor Daddy was sick on New Years Eve, so we just stayed home. At least we woke up before the countdown to say "Happy New Year and I love you!" before promptly going back to sleep. Ha-ha! Isabella of course was already sleepin' in her bed.

Here was the highlight...making "Ginger's House" as Isabella calls it...

Now Isabella is sick :( Poor thing! We went to the doctor today and she has bronchitis. She is resting (watching movies) and taking her medicine! She will be back to herself in a couple of days :)Those horses are her best friends!

Last night on TV Chris saw something he thought was SO HILARIOUS that he paused it and made me take a picture to show my dad. I wasn't at work today to show him but I am sure he would think it was pretty funny!!! Amy would too...since conversations often end up revolving around this!
