Tear Jerkers

This weekend I read 'The Last Song'. A week or so ago, I finished "Dear John" (also watched the movie right after). I love Nicholas Sparks! He always moves me to tears in his novels. I am so looking forward to seeing the movie. I have two more Nicholas Sparks books lined up on my shelf to read next, "At First Sight" and "True Believer". I laid on the couch this afternoon with the sun shinning on me while reading and I thought, 'This is perfect.' Gosh, I love books!

Angels v. Mariners

One of Chris' clients gave him 4 tickets to the Angel game yesterday afternoon. We were unsure we would attend because well, we aren't Angel fans. But we couldn't pass up some great baseball and fun at the stadium. We are baseball fans for sure! Plus, Uncle David was a Seattle Mariner at one time. We had that going for us!

I haven't mentioned that I put myself on a shopping moratorium for 30 days. As much as I wanted to buy Angel gear to wear to the game, I didn't let myself. I thought, "This is my problem...when would I wear it again? I would always choose to wear my Dodgers hat over Angels" It isn't the same as buying a hat for teams in other states (i.e. my NY hat I wear all the time). So I didn't! A small victory for me!

Isabella choose to wear her UCLA Cheerleader outfit. There was no talking her out of it. We told her that it was the wrong team and the wrong sport. And you know what, she got so many compliments. She also had Nachos, but said the cheese 'wasn't good for her'. She turned to me and said, "Only you make the best nachos, Mom!" Love that girl!

This was Vincent's first ballgame. He really enjoyed it and kept saying "Play Ball!" He didn't like all the clapping and screaming, but every time it happened he was over it in 2 seconds. He also took a small nap.

A wonderful day at the ballpark!

More Work

I just finished these gorgeous (if I do say so myself) invitations for a couple getting married at Falkner Winery. It is a 5x5 pocket with the bow tied on the outside. I LOVE the gold, brown and red. I am also doing seating cards and table names for this wedding. Now on to my next inivtation project (purple, black and white). I also have one in que (waiting for a deposit), a coordination meeting next Thursday and another meeting in the works for invitations! YEA for work!

All Set...

...for American Idol!
Us last night, after showers, in our jammies and hair twists.
Like Mother, Like Daughter.

Shout out to Lee Dewyze!!! LOVE HIM :) Too bad someone commented on my status last night who had watched the East Coast feed of Idol and blew it for me. But I love Lee and was happy he won. I also loved Bret Michael's being there and was sad to say "goodbye" to Simon! It was an awesome finale.

Radish!

Isabella's garden has been sprouting and growing.
She is so proud of it. As am I!

Today, with Ms. Amanda, she picked her very first Radish!
How awesome & exciting is that?!

Happy 30th Nick!

Nick turned THIRTY yesterday ... welcome to the club, Brother! Alice and Joe threw a great Americana themed party. Nick loves pie, so Chris and I brought all the yummy pies!! The BBQ was great, fellowship was awesome and Nick has a ton of shopping to do with all of the gift cards he got. It was so much fun to see Isabella and Vincent run around with all of their cousins in the backyard. Alice and Grandpa Bob have more pictures, but these are the few I took. Thank you Joe and Alice for a wonderful party and Happy Birthday, Nick! We love you!

31...Ouch!

So I left off  last week that Chris was in LA and then SF for business. We tried to figure out how to get myself and the kids up to SF for the weekend, but it was just going to be too much hassle. So Chris told me Thursday he had decided to take us to Palm Desert for the weekend to celebrate my birthday. We left on Friday after we picked Bella up from school. Right when we checked in, we switched into bathing suits and down we went to the pool. The kids' pool was about 1ft. deep and Vincent loved it!

After swimming, we went to dinner at Babes BBQ. There was a pig named Rose that Isabella had to take lots of pictures by! The food was great and we walked around the shops leisurely after dinner.

Saturday morning, Isabella went to the "Kids Club". While she was there making lots of crafts, playing and swimming, we went for a walk, played tennis (or shall I say, I tried!) and then some basketball! We picked up Bella at 12 and then had lunch and relaxed by the pool.

That night they had a "Dive-In" movie where they played Monsters vs. Aliens. Vincent and Chris went to the store and bought sandwiches, strawberries/whipped cream, chips and all of my favorite snacks to eat by the pool! They also came back with some beautiful tulips for me!

Sunday morning was my birthday! The four of us went to breakfast and then went shopping at the outlets. I got a beautiful Coach purse. I didn't expect anything (although I did print the extra 20% off coupon. Thanks Hall!). Seriously, going to the Desert and making memories was enough for me, plus we had to get a new washing machine this week since mine broke.
That night we went to dinner at PF Changs with my Parents, Joe, Alice and Nick. I got beautiful pink roses from Mom and Dad, and a awesome pink Italian flower plant for my garden from Joe and Alice. I got some great presents too! Totally spoiled! We had cake and coffee back at our house after dinner. I was sad to see the weekend come to an end. It really was perfect and gave me a blessed start to a new year...31! Wow!

Happy Birthday Grammy!

On Tuesday, my sweet girl had SIX shots. She was super brave. Bless her heart!
This morning she said her arms and legs hurt. But she went to school and toughed it out.
After school, we headed to Grammy's house. We went to lunch with Grammy, Popi, Aunt Jenny and Rylie. Popi had to work, so the kids and I took Grammy to Disneyland!
Of course, we had a blast!

Daddy had a meeting today in LA and then flew up to San Fran for a task force meeting tomorrow.
I am so proud of him, but it is quiet tonight.
