Getting close to Christmas!

Boy, Christmas is coming faster than I expected this year. Every year I am going to be done early so I just have to sit back and enjoy the holidays. We will see what year that will actually happen!

We made these goody trays to pass out to Popi's work, Daddy's work and Aunt Doris & her friends.
I found out that AW was closed and no one was in the front office (we had to eat those goodies - shucks) and I couldn't make it down to Newport Beach, so Chris just took the tray with him on Friday morning.

Friday morning, Kendal came over in her PJs and we had some hot cocoa and girl time. I had a wonderful time chatting with Stephanie for the couple hours while the girls played with Vincent. I just love her and their family and am very lucky for their friendship :)

I guess I didn't get a great picture!

After that, we picked up Grammy and met Popi in Long Beach to visit Aunt Doris at assisted living. Aunt Doris is  my Mom's Aunt and the oldest living on that side of the family. She is my Grandma's sister. After my Grandma died, she was married to my Grandpa for a short time. She was kind of a Grandmother figure to me throughout growing up since my own Grandmother passed away when I was 3 or 4. I would always go to spend the night with her and my Grandpa and just remember great times with them. Unfortunately her dimentia is getting bad. She kept calling Isabella Becky and me Nancy. I cried some when I left because the place is so depressing and it is hard to see people you love get old. But boy those old folks loved Isabella and Vincent. They wanted to talk to the kids, some even sang - Vincent gave the old ladies hugs and kisses. It truly made their days and I loved seeing the smiles around.

We are looking forward to a mellow weekend and blessed holiday. Wishing you all the same!

Oh my goodness! That looks like the assisted living my Granny was in for some time, wonder if it is the same place, I just remember that bigopen courtyard. It is sad to visit our elders, but they love visitors!!! What a great blessing to have her around and from the pictures it looks like she loved seeing the kids.
